"Call me Naive, but I sorta believe!"(Vibe.com)

"Call me Naive, but I sorta believe" sounds like a campaign slogan an indecisive politician might adopt, but those were the exact words that escaped my hairy mandible as I talked to my friend DanTres immediately following Barack Obama's win in Iowa - a statement in stark contrast to my previous belief that there wasn't a snowballs chance in Lil Kim's vagina that America would ever elect a black man to the highest office in the land. Since I come from a state that almost re-elected a known bigot who manufactures innovative slurs for black folks in his spare time, I'm fully versed on the doctorate degree that many Americans hold in Racism 101 - I, like so many others, felt that the spark that was Obama's presidential campaign would fizzle out faster than Taylor Hicks' career. Also, to be quite candid - my main concern was for the brother's safety - every time I'd see him greeting enthusiastic crowds I found myself yelling "Get him the fuck out of there!" as if his secret service team could actually hear me. It was akin to watching a showering blond in a 2nd rate horror flick.(Read more here)

I think I'm becoming an Obama convert, too.

However, my desire to not vote for Obama was based on purely selfish reasons. As an Illinois resident, I wanted Obama at least continue his first term as Senator. Before he officially decided to run, he was putting the Senatorial goon hands on the Veterans' Administration and its criminally shameful treatment of wounded soldiers (Walter Reed, anyone?). I was also worried that should Obama win, his Senatorial replacement won't nearly be as effective... or worse yet, Alan Keyes.

But I think I can trade the good of my state for the potential greater good of the country.

"A snowballs chance in Lil Kim's vagina" that's priceless.

I get the sense that the fear he will be killed is looming on the back of our collective minds and I think, Black folks may be thinking if they don't vote for him that somehow he will be safe--by not winning.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I'm a woman and I think now is NOT the time to have a skirt leading the White House!

I plan to vote for Obama because as he said it in NH "WE CAN!"

Besides...I think the Clinton's have had enuf sex in the White House...Well Bill anyway!

Hopefully Barack's successes thus far suggest a large number of American's are interested in making race a non-starter.

Barack Obama has cross over appeal and that is his identity.

Lest we forget, Rev. Jesse Jackson won five caucuses and primaries as a presidential candidate.

But what has Lil Kim's vagina got to do with American politics?
Or are we talking sex and politics, two strange bed fellows.

Anyway, I support Hillary Clinton for President.
She reminds me of African Amazons.

Cheers and God bless.

Lest we forget that Barack Obama is a completely different candidate all together, nowhere near as polarizing - and Obama's willingness to court independents and republicans is in stark contrast with the platform Jesse Jackson ran on. Sorry.
